Forties Glam
Hair inspired by the 1940’s turned up all over the autumn/winter runways.

Bottega Veneta worked oversized curls pinned in a chic side part, while Carolina Herrera showed French twisted buns.

Oscar de la Renta adorned his model’s heads with beautiful jewel encrusted brooches, while Tory Burch swept hair to the side in a loose chignon.

Mermaid braids and Mermaid Waves
Beachy curls, plaits and braids usually reserved for spring/summer  found new ground at the autumn/winter shows.

At Rodarte, models were given thick braids and rosette buns that fell over cascading locks, while at Viktor and Rolf the braids were wrapped around the side of the head like a pretty halo.

Phillip Lim kept his hair simple, down and tousled, while Rochas rocked a dual-textural do that was at the same time sleek and wavy.

Long and Strong
Crack out those GHD’s, because sleek, straight hair reminiscent of Wednesday Addams is set to be hot for the cooler months.

Chanel opted for a middle parted down do, while Calvin Klein Collection and Erdem parted the hair to the side for blow-dried perfection.

At Daks, a front portion of the hair was tucked behind ears for an ethereal, elf-like feel.

Punky Perfect
Designers chopped, gelled and manipulated hair into bold styles that are sure to generate some strong opinions.

Jean Paul Gaultier and Rachel Comey accented this trend with choppy pixie dos that were delightfully gamine, while Karl Lagerfeld completely transformed model’s hair into punk-rocker faux-hawks at Fendi.

Over at Balmain, hair has greased up with plenty of gel and swept back into a rockabilly-esque wet do.
